In a social media post that has shocked the Northern Beaches Moms Facebook group, a woman shared a revolting experience after buying a pack of Bond period undies.
When she opened the package containing the $16 black diapers, she was horrified to find brown, insect-like debris inside.
The woman, Lisa, wrote alongside a video of the soiled clothing: “WTF are these? I just opened a pack of period infinity. 🤢”
Brown particles cover the fabric and some small insect-like creatures seem to be mixed in with the debris.
It didn’t take long for the comments to start pouring in on…
“Get them out of your house now www”
“I was going to post this on the Bonds page 🤢,” one person suggested, echoing what many other commenters said.
“EWWWW,” someone else wrote, while others simply shared multiple vomit emojis.
“Yes. Not good,” replied another mother, while someone else called the situation, “wild.”
“Get them out of your house now www,” another local demanded.
The poster then replied that she had already cleaned up the affected area and any debris that had spilled onto the floor.
Then one member speculated that the creatures could be termites, writing: “I think they are silver lead termites.”
Another user agreed and suggested the woman call pest control immediately.
“It’s about strict quarantine laws”
Others turned to Google’s reverse search to help with identification.
“Google Lens looks pretty sure they’re termites. Wow,” one mom shared.
Then another group member mentioned a past experience with another product: “These bugs don’t look the same, but many customers were sent carpet beetles by an overseas knitwear brand. We were advised to go out with the item. and spray it with bug spray.”
And another user noted, “Bonds are manufactured overseas. This has to do with strict quarantine laws. I don’t know these bugs.”
Many commenters advised contacting the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry rather than just Bonds because this could be a biosecurity risk.
One commenter advised: “Keep the packaging and all the evidence. I’d be interested to hear what it is.”
